THE TRUTH ABOUT DIETS for fat loss We’re going to cover some of the currently popular diet trends that people are following for fat loss. The ketogenic diet – This diet consists of eating high levels of fat low protein and extremely low carbohydrate until your body becomes ketogenic basically using the byproduct of fat breakdown for your main source of energy. Great right! Burning fat for fuel?! Until you learn that you don’t burn any more additional fat than you would following a regular calorie controlled diet and the ketogenic diet is a nightmare to follow for most. It’s already difficult trying to lose fat Why make things any harder on yourself? Intermittent fasting – This diet requires you to eat all your calories within a certain window of time i.e. fasting for 16 hours then allowing yourself to eat for 8 hours of the day. This sometimes leads to a person naturally falling into calorie deficit because they’re not eating for 16 hours and potentially missing meals/snacks they would normally have. This actually works for a lot of people if you think this is a method of calorie restriction you could stick to go for it Low carb – This diet requires a very low intake of carbohydrates but not necessarily to the degree that ketosis would occur. When someone follows a low carb diet the first foods to make the chopping block are sweets cakes biscuits fruit juices etc foods that are hyperpalatable and aren’t very satiating. What might this lead to? You guessed it. A decrease in caloric intake. You’ll notice a trend here. The underlying principle that all diets require to stimulate fat loss is a caloric deficit. There is SOME truth to claims regarding insulin resistance/sensitivity protein synthesis autophagy but these are almost meaningless with regards to your fatloss. There are benefits and drawbacks to following any type of diet. Find one that works for you and stick to it. #diets #ketoweightloss #lowcarblife #intermittentfasting #caloriedeficit #caloriesincaloriesout #weightlossjourney #weightlosshelp #fatlosstips #weightlosstips #atkinsdiet #veganuary #diettips #weightlossideas #losebellyfat
